Coming off the bus with a stellar 4th of July show with fellow townsfolk Explosions in the Sky, Austin’s Octopus Project are out of town just as fast, ready to resume a month-long national tour. Austin seems to excel at marketing emotionally rousing instrumental indie rock, and Project have gathered up no small piece of that pie.

That being said, expect their newest EP, ‘Golden Beds’ to be released on July 28th. Pick up a copy at Waterloo Records or your favorite pretentious music store. The CD will come with a collection of the band’s music videos, one of which is the ultra-peppy “Truck”. Unfortunately, you have to supply your own chemical euphorics, as their inclusion with the EP was deemed too marketable for mere mortals, as well as highly, highly illegal.

Here’s the video for “Truck” for those that haven’t seen it. Animal heads on band-members has been done before (Refused’s “New Noise” video, for starters) but never in such a cuddly, animated way.
